Specific Expectations of Middle School Youth
- Regular worship with the family of Epiphany.
- Full and healthy participation in the Sunday afternoon Confirmation sessions.
- An NRSV Bible that the confirmand owns and that has his/her written notes in it.
- Full and healthy participation in the scheduled retreats and summer camp event.
- Participation in Middle School fellowship and service activities and in Sunday morning faith formation processes.
- Service as acolytes, crucifers, readers, communion assistants and other forms of worship leadership when asked to serve.
- An in-home conference involving those being confirmed and their parents in the spring before the Sunday on which we celebrate Rite of Confirmation.
- Expecting a GREAT year!
- For those being confirmed at the end of this year: You will write a brief statement of faith in your own words. You will be equipped to do this. You will meet one-on-one with your adult asset builders prior to the Rite of Confirmation and be prepared to answer the following:
Who is God?
Why does it matter?
What does it mean to me in my world?
Who am I?
Why am I here?
What must I do?
How shall I live?
